Kerry Dairy Ireland Implements Wellbeing Program for Milk Suppliers
Kerry Dairy Ireland has launched a comprehensive support program aimed at enhancing the mental health and wellbeing of its milk suppliers and their families. This initiative makes Kerry Dairy Ireland the first dairy processor in Ireland to offer a full Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to its suppliers.
The support program, developed in collaboration with Lyra International, offers 24/7 confidential counselling and wellbeing services at no cost. It includes mental health support, financial and legal advice, and crisis assistance available via phone, app, or online.
Pat Murphy, CEO of Kerry Dairy Ireland, emphasized the importance of this program, stating, "We recognize the growing pressures facing farming families. Extending our Employee Assistance Programme to suppliers ensures they have expert, confidential support whenever they need it."
Additionally, Kerry Dairy Ireland has introduced a new forward price scheme for its milk suppliers. The 'Forward Price Scheme 55' opened for applications on March 10 and was based on an indicative price of 39.5 to 40.5 cents per liter, including VAT, for milk with 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat. The scheme covers the period from March to October 2027.
A spokesperson for Kerry Dairy Ireland noted that this scheme aims to provide price certainty and financial stability for farmers during the specified period.
