Kazakhstan and Denmark are moving to a new stage of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex with a focus on the development of dairy farming, technology transfer, and attracting investments. These agreements were reached during the Kazakhstan-Denmark round table with the participation of Deputy Minister of Agriculture Amangaliy Berdalin. A key outcome of the negotiations was the signing of a memorandum between Danish Holstein and QazaqSut. The document provides for sustainable supplies of high-yield breeding cattle from Denmark, as well as the transfer of breeding and management technologies to Kazakhstani farms, reports Dairynews.today citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The cooperation between the countries has an accumulated base: from 2011 to 2025, 10,780 heads of Danish breeding cattle were supplied to Kazakhstan. Starting from 2026, supplies continue within the framework of new investment projects.

However, the current stage is distinguished by a change in priorities. It is no longer just about increasing the number of livestock, but about improving the efficiency of its use—through genetics, digital solutions, and modern farm management approaches.

"I am confident that the agreements reached and the signed memorandum will be an important step towards deepening practical interaction," noted Amangaliy Berdalin.

During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the implementation of Danish technologies in dairy cattle breeding, including selection, digital accounting, and herd management.

Separate discussion areas included:

  • veterinary safety;
  • development of deep processing;
  • expansion of mutual trade in agricultural products;
  • localization of technologies and creation of competence centers.

As part of the working program, the Kazakhstani delegation held negotiations with a number of leading Danish companies, including Viking Genetics, FOSS, DanBred, and Kongskilde Industries.

The companies expressed interest in implementing joint projects in Kazakhstan, noted the Kazakhstani department.
