Kazakhstan Increases Agro-Exports to Turkey Amid Projects Exceeding $1 Billion
By the end of 2025, the trade turnover of agro-industrial products between the countries increased by more than 25%, reaching approximately $360 million. Kazakhstan's exports are primarily composed of grains and legumes (up to 395 thousand tons in 2025). Authorities plan to expand supplies by including wheat, lentils, feed, and oilseeds.
An additional focus is on the development of livestock product exports. Kazakhstan is working on opening the Turkish market for beef supplies, which could significantly expand the industry's export capabilities.
Cooperation between the countries is being strengthened through investments:
- About 10 projects worth $400 million have been implemented,
- Projects worth more than $1 billion are underway,
- Further initiatives worth $2 billion are also being explored.
Key projects include:
- The Alarko Holding greenhouse complex in Shymkent (500 ha),
- The Tiryaki Agro grain deep processing plant in Astana (250 thousand tons per year),
- The Iskefe Holding leather processing project in Almaty (up to 7 thousand tons of products).
Additionally, discussions are underway regarding the construction of a sugar factory with the participation of Turkish business.
Kazakhstan is focusing on the development of deep processing, increasing the added value of products, and launching joint productions.
Simultaneously, cooperation is developing in agricultural science, education, and technological developments.
