Impressive Achievements in Desertification Combat by China's Mengniu

British online content creator Jack Forsdike witnessed the remarkable achievements of Chinese dairy giant Mengniu in combating desertification during his recent visit to the Ulan Buh Desert in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Mengniu has successfully transformed over 200 square kilometers of desert into green pasture in recent years, planting more than 97 million trees. This project underlines how Chinese enterprises are investing in ESG efforts to improve their environmental impact.
In July, Jack toured the transformed green pastures, now a thriving source of forage grasses for cows at Mengniu's world-leading organic raw milk production base. Recognized for its environmental contributions, Mengniu's 'grass to pasture to milk' organic system has earned acknowledgment from the UN Global Compact as a top-tier corporate carbon-neutrality initiative.
With a focus on sustainable development, Mengniu has committed to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and aims for carbon neutrality by 2050, all while ensuring the continued supply of premium dairy products worldwide.
