In a recent announcement, Heritage Foods disclosed substantial price reductions across its dairy product range following the Indian government's decision to decrease goods and services tax (GST) rates on these products.

From September 22 onwards, the company intends to pass on the full benefits of the GST Council's rate rationalisation to consumers. Long shelf-life UHT milk prices will see a deduction of Rs 3 per litre, while fresh milk remains unaffected due to its GST exemption.
In addition, the company has significantly slashed the prices of various other dairy products: ghee and butter by Rs 50 per litre and kilogram respectively, cheese by Rs 50 per kg, and paneer by Rs 25 per kg. The ice cream segment will witness a reduction of Rs 35 for 950ml packs and Rs 20 for 700ml packs.
These strategic price adjustments are aptly timed to coincide with the imminent festive season in India, a period characterized by heightened consumption of dairy products. According to Heritage Foods, this 'consumer-first move' aims to support families in celebrating with high-quality, more affordable dairy offerings.
