FSSAI Targets Param Dairy and Bikanervala for Hygiene Violations
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has intensified its regulatory oversight by serving notices to several food business operators, including Param Dairy Limited and Bikanervala. These notices are part of a broader action against companies allegedly violating the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The primary concerns include misleading branding, unverified health and nutritional claims, improper labeling, and hygiene-related complaints.
Among the products that have been flagged by FSSAI are Incipro Gold Powder Vanilla and Korean Ginseng supplements. These products were reportedly marketed with health and performance enhancement claims that do not meet FSSAI regulations. Additionally, products such as Buransh Squash, Alkaline Nutrient Water, and Alphonso Mango Fruit Drink have been cited for potentially misleading labeling, unapproved claims, and incomplete mandatory disclosures.
In response to consumer allegations of fungal contamination in dairy products supplied through catering channels, Param Dairy Limited has been asked to provide clarifications. Bikanervala, on the other hand, received a notice following complaints about hygiene standards in its food preparation and service areas.
FSSAI has mandated all concerned food business operators to implement immediate corrective measures. They are required to ensure strict compliance with labeling norms, approved claims, and hygiene standards. The regulatory body's actions are part of its ongoing efforts to enhance consumer protection, improve transparency, and enforce accountability throughout India's food industry.
