Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia — Aziza Alghanim, the pioneering force behind Khairat Laziza, has skillfully transformed her ardor for agriculture into a flourishing venture. Centered in the idyllic town of Saihat, her enterprise has captivated the hearts of locals with its unique array of handmade cheeses.
In 2001, Alghanim embarked on her journey, cultivating aromatic citrus and vibrant buckthorn trees alongside rearing a small herd of goats. The turning point came in 2014 with her venture into artisanal cheese production. Gaining swift popularity, her cheeses sold out effortlessly, prompting the establishment of a specialized factory in 2016. By 2019, she expanded further, offering over 100 distinct products.
Khairat Laziza, named after Alghanim's enterprise, now boasts an impressive line-up of 118 products, including labneh, gelatos, jams, sauces, and a range of dairy-free options. All products are natural, free of preservatives, and trace back to her farm's wholesome ingredients.
Beyond commerce, Alghanim is driven by a mission to contribute to charitable causes through her non-profit Khairat Laziza Foundation, where all earnings are allocated to support various initiatives.
Looking to the future, Alghanim is shifting her focus towards education, imparting the art of cheesemaking through well-curated workshops for both enthusiasts and novices. Her efforts emphasize sustainable practices, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of cheesemaking's intricacies.
