Electricity can account for up to 30% of the cost of dairy products. This information was provided by Ramil Shakirov, Development Manager for Digital and Industrial Services at Schneider Electric Kazakhstan, during his presentation at the XV Dairy Olympics in Ankara.
Ramil Shakirov discussed the main challenges facing the dairy industry, among others. According to him, a new type of workforce is needed now. Young people, born with smartphones in hand, are coming to work at these facilities. "If you offer them to work with an MS DOS system, they will simply leave," he noted. The youth are ready to work with information and large volumes of data, but they perceive it differently. They need deep data visualization, Shakirov explained.
Another challenge is the flexibility of demand for food products. Today, many types of milk, cheeses, and ice creams are produced, while consumer habits frequently change. "If you do not respond to these changes, you will lose," said Ramil Shakirov.
Cybersecurity at the plant is also a critical issue. Modern factories often have weak cybersecurity, but there is now sufficient equipment and systems on the market to effectively address this issue, Shakirov noted.
"The digital transformation of enterprises is extremely relevant as it allows for improved product quality, reduced production costs, and increased automation," the expert declared.
Another significant challenge is the sustainable development of enterprises. "This direction is not just an empty phrase, especially for companies that are entering international markets," concluded Ramil Shakirov.
