Dizzard Farm Launches Sheep-Milking and Cheese-Making Venture in Cornwall
Dizzard Farm, located near Bude in North Cornwall, has expanded its agricultural activities by launching a sheep-milking and cheese-making operation. The farm, operated by Rob Hoadley and Katie Farnell, initially focused on sheep farming but has now introduced milking sheep to produce their own sheep’s cheese. This diversification is part of a broader strategy to enhance the farm's offerings.
The couple has soft-launched the 'Dizzy Dairy', a new farm shop that will sell products such as sheep’s milk and cheese, eggs, homemade jams, and chutneys. Katie Farnell noted that customers can purchase these products not only at the farm but also online and at local markets, including Lansdown Dairy in Bude.
In addition to dairy offerings, the shop will carry pork and lamb raised on the farm, along with seasonal vegetables from their own and nearby sources. The aim is to provide a 'field to fork' experience, emphasizing high standards of animal welfare and supporting local food systems.
The full launch of the Dizzy Dairy shop is planned for Easter Monday. The farm also offers tours to educate visitors about food origins and production processes.
