The country also aims to increase the value of food trade from AED 25 billion to AED 40 billion. Other stated objectives include creating approximately 20,000 jobs, supporting up to 200 food companies and replacing AED 2 billion worth of imports with locally manufactured products annually.
Three other industry exhibitions will be held alongside Gulfood Manufacturing. ISM Middle East will focus on confectionery and snacks, Private Label Middle East on contract manufacturing and private-label products, and GulfHost on equipment for restaurants, commercial kitchens and food-service businesses.
