Demand for Jersey Milk Reaches Highest Levels in 50 Years
Demand for Jersey milk has reached its highest level in 50 years, with growing interest among consumers seeking full-fat dairy options. According to Tesco, this resurgence is largely driven by health-conscious 'Gen Zers' who are increasingly including full-fat dairy in their diets for its natural protein and calcium content.
Dr. Robert Graham, owner of Graham's The Family Dairy, noted, "They say what goes around comes around and that is certainly the case with Jersey milk which is at its most popular now than it has been since the 70s." He highlighted the consistent growth in demand for their Gold Top Jersey milk over the past year, as consumers rediscover its nutritional benefits.
Jersey milk, named after the Jersey breed of cattle, was originally introduced in the 1950s. Its return to popularity marks a significant shift in consumer preferences towards more traditional, full-fat dairy products.
