Dairy Processing Center in Al-Taiziyah Aims to Boost Local Production
The Acting Governor of Taiz, Ahmed Al-Masawi, recently reviewed the operations of a new Dairy Processing and Production Center located in Al-Taiziyah. This center, funded by the Social Fund for Development through the Small and Micro Enterprise Development Agency, was established at a cost of $85,000. Al-Masawi emphasized the project's crucial role in meeting local demand for dairy products, achieving self-sufficiency, and reducing the need for imports.
During his visit, Al-Masawi stated, “We are honored to visit such economic projects, which represent the first link in the value chain of dairy products. This project will be the primary production line in the governorate, to be followed by additional lines to encourage livestock breeders to market local production safely and hygienically.”
The Acting Governor highlighted the significance of establishing dairy production centers, which he believes will enhance competition in quality and reduce prices. He also called for the setup of model collection centers across the governorate to facilitate the collection of fresh milk from producers through cooperative associations.
Engineer Abdullah Al-Jundi, Head of the Agricultural Sector in the governorate, noted that the production of dairy products from natural milk is a vital step towards strengthening partnerships between dairy production centers and cooperative associations. He stated that such initiatives encourage farmers and families to expand production processes and improve their incomes.
Hussein Al-Rashidi, Director of the Agricultural and Fisheries Project and Initiative Financing Unit in the governorate, emphasized that the center operates with equipment meeting health standards. The center's establishment aims to foster an environment conducive to investment and local production development.
