Chilean Milk Reception Increases by 4% in Early 2026
Chile's milk reception grew by 4% in the first four months of 2026, according to data released by Fedeleche. Notably, the Biobío region saw a substantial increase of 14.3%, while La Araucanía and the Metropolitan region also reported rises of 3.7% and 4.5%, respectively. In contrast, the Ñuble region experienced a decline in milk reception by 9.1%, dropping from 13.9 million liters to 12.4 million liters.
In April 2026 alone, the country's monthly milk reception reached 189.9 million liters, marking a 2.7% increase compared to April 2025. Los Ríos led the monthly growth with a 6.8% increase, while Biobío and La Araucanía reported gains of 15.4% and 6.3%, respectively. However, Los Lagos saw a monthly decrease of 3.0%, and Ñuble recorded a decline of 3.7%.
Despite these increases, the average real price paid to milk producers from January to April 2026 was 457.4 Chilean pesos per liter, reflecting a 1.8% year-on-year decrease. Fedeleche attributed the production increase partly to improved climatic conditions in the southern dairy regions of Chile.
