Cheese Prices in Russia Rise 16.5% Over the Year
Since the start of autumn, price growth has accelerated: cheese retail prices have gone up by 5.2% since September, reaching 261.9 rubles for a 200-gram piece as of early November.

Other dairy products have also seen price hikes. Butter has increased by 25.4%, reaching 262.8 rubles for a 200-gram pack, while milk (900 ml) is up 14.7%, costing 86.6 rubles.

Experts attribute the price growth to the rising cost of raw milk, which has increased by 21% over the year to 35-38 rubles per liter, excluding VAT.

Additional factors include increased expenses for feed, logistics, packaging, and electricity.

In response, Russia's Ministry of Agriculture is implementing measures to stabilize dairy prices, including support for producers and price monitoring.
