Brinkworth Dairy's Royal Bassett Blue Wins Top Great Taste Award

Brinkworth Dairy, a family-run farm located in Wiltshire, England, has achieved a significant milestone by winning a three-star accolade at the Great Taste Awards 2026 for its Royal Bassett Blue cheese. This prestigious award highlights the exceptional quality and flavor of the cheese, which is made using milk from the farm's own Friesian herd.

The Great Taste Awards are organized by the Guild of Fine Food and involve a rigorous blind tasting process. This year, over 15,000 products from across the globe were entered into the competition, but only 306 were honored with the highest three-star rating, underscoring the achievement of Brinkworth Dairy.

Ceri Cryer, director at Brinkworth Dairy, expressed great pride in receiving the award, stating that it was an incredible recognition of the dedication and refinement that has gone into perfecting Royal Bassett Blue. The cheese, named after nearby Royal Wootton Bassett, is crafted entirely on the family farm.

Brinkworth Dairy is known for its range of dairy products, including milk, yoghurt, kefir, butter, cream, gelato, and several handmade cheeses. The farm follows regenerative agricultural practices and is committed to using milk from its own pedigree Friesian cows.

John Farrand, managing director of the Guild of Fine Food, emphasized the importance of supporting independent producers, particularly in the context of growing global food security concerns. He highlighted that the Great Taste Awards celebrate craftsmanship, dedication to local ingredients, and traditional production methods.
