Brian Rexing Appointed as New Chairman of the National Milk Producers Federation
Brian Rexing has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), succeeding Randy Mooney, who held the position for 17 years. This significant leadership transition was announced during the NMPF's Joint Annual Meeting. Rexing, a fourth-generation dairy farmer fr om Indiana, operates New Generation Dairy, wh ere he manages 1,200 cows and 3,500 acres of crops. He is also a member of the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), one of the largest cooperatives in the U.S.
Rexing's appointment signifies a new era for the NMPF as he plans to focus on the broader representation and future of the U.S. dairy industry. His extensive experience includes serving on DFA's Executive Committee and being named the Indiana Dairy Producer of the Year in 2010. In 2021, he expanded his operations by acquiring a meat processing plant with a retail store.
Under Rexing's leadership, the NMPF aims to tackle pressing issues such as dairy economics and labor challenges. The organization's new leadership slate includes Cricket Jacquier of Agri-Mark as 1st Vice Chairman and Simon Vander Woude of California Dairies Inc. as 2nd Vice Chairman, among other key industry leaders.
The Joint Annual Meeting, attended by approximately 750 farmers and industry professionals, also confirmed policy positions and welcomed new board members, including Amy Humphreys from Northwest Dairy Association and Stephen Mancebo from Land O’Lakes. These developments are part of the NMPF's strategic efforts to address economic and labor challenges in the dairy sector.
