Belarus Plans to Increase Food Exports to $9.2 Billion by 2025
In 2024, food exports amounted to nearly $8.5 billion. "This year's target is 106%. Objectively, we will reach around $9.2 billion. Thus, we will fulfill the head of state's directive," Shuleyko noted.
The Deputy Prime Minister reported that the harvest of grains, legumes, and rapeseed in the republic exceeded 11 million tons, including 1 million tons of rapeseed seeds. According to him, there is a surplus of grain in the country, creating favorable conditions for export supplies.
Shuleyko emphasized that just a few years ago, the republic had to import fodder from Russia, whereas today many farms are ready to offer their volumes for sale. Meanwhile, the authorities are maintaining a balance: "The grain is stored well, we conduct exchanges according to our state programs, stabilization funds, and government orders."
President Alexander Lukashenko previously set a strategic goal: to increase the export of food and agricultural raw materials to $12 billion annually over the next five years. The target for 2026 is set at no less than $9.5 billion.
