Belarus Increases Dairy Exports to Kazakhstan by 26%

According to the diplomatic mission, in 2024, Kazakhstan imported 183,000 tons of dairy products, including:
-
55,000 tons of cheese and curd,
-
45,000 tons of yogurt, kefir, and other fermented milk products,
-
33,000 tons of milk and cream,
-
36,000 tons of condensed and powdered milk.
Belarusian enterprises provide a significant portion of these supplies. However, according to Bogdanov, the share of Belarusian food in Kazakhstan's total food imports currently stands at about 10%.
"Local milk producers do not fully meet internal demands. Kazakhstan's production is about 3.5–4 million tons per year, while the estimated need is around 7 million tons. Against this background, the import of Belarusian dairy products remains an important element of the food balance," the ambassador emphasized.
Belarus views Kazakhstan as a strategic partner for further expanding exports and technological cooperation in the dairy sector. At the forum, representatives of enterprises discussed the prospects of joint production, investments in processing, and localization of ingredient and packaging supplies. In the coming years, the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Food plans to intensify the promotion of lactose-free and functional products, as well as expand the export of cheeses, yogurts, and whey, for which demand is steadily growing in the Kazakhstani market.
"Considering the steady demand and cultural proximity of the markets, the Belarusian dairy industry can strengthen its position in Kazakhstan and use it as a logistical hub to enter other Central Asian countries," experts noted at the forum.
