Argentine and Uruguayan Dairy Markets Experience Price and Export Adjustments
In the first half of October 2025, Argentina's dairy exports experienced a downturn in several key metrics. The average price per ton fell to USD 3,833.49, a 3.6% decrease from USD 3,978.70 in late September. Export volumes also dropped by 23.8%, with 17,227.06 tons shipped compared to 22,615.94 tons in the previous period. The number of export markets decreased from 34 to 29.
The market for specific dairy products also showed varied price movements. Whole Milk Powder was priced at USD 3,848.99 per ton, a 1.02% drop, while Skimmed Milk Powder's price decreased by 0.82% to USD 3,097.11. In contrast, Buttermilk saw a price increase of 11.21% to USD 3,050.00 per ton. Hard Cheese and Butter both experienced significant price declines.
In Uruguay, the first half of November 2025 revealed a mixed scenario. The average export price slightly decreased by 1.65% to USD 3,801.51 per ton. However, the export volume saw a 4.4% increase, with 12,773.51 tons shipped. Market diversification saw a small reduction, with destinations decreasing from 38 to 36.
Uruguay's Whole Milk Powder priced at USD 3,867.08 per ton showed a 1.15% decrease, while Skimmed Milk Powder's price rose by 3.50% to USD 3,318.16 per ton. Butter prices saw a modest increase, while Semi-Hard Cheese and Hard Cheese experienced declines.
