Alfa Laval UK & Ireland Appoints New Managing Director Amid Growth Plans
Alfa Laval UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Alessandro Bracco as its new managing director. This decision is part of a strategic initiative to foster growth across several key sectors, particularly food and beverage, as reported by the company. Bracco brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent 20 years in B2B sales, marketing, and commercial strategy, including a five-year tenure at Alfa Laval. His previous roles span industries such as finance, renewable energy, and building materials.
Bracco, who assumed the role in May, succeeds Rachel Bridges, who has transitioned to the position of portfolio unit president of growth and partnerships for Alfa Laval's ocean division. Despite being a Scandinavian company, Alfa Laval has maintained a presence in the UK & Ireland for over a century, which Bracco believes has influenced his leadership style, combining British and Swedish business approaches.
He remarked on the current business climate, stating, "There has never been a more exciting time to take the helm at Alfa Laval. While challenges persist in the market, there are also opportunities – particularly in the food and beverage sector." Bracco emphasizes the importance of efficiency in their business strategy, aligning with the UK's ongoing decarbonization efforts. He mentioned, "At Alfa Laval, we believe that a kilowatt-hour saved is better than a kilowatt-hour created, and the concept of efficiency – in every sense of the word – will continue to be a driving force behind our business strategy."
The company's strategic focus aligns with the growing power demands and the need for efficiency across all sectors, including food and beverage. Bracco's leadership is anticipated to guide Alfa Laval through these evolving market dynamics, leveraging both challenges and opportunities presented by the decarbonization journey.
