Akshayakalpa Organic Secures Rs 350 Crore to Boost Dairy Expansion
Akshayakalpa Organic, a leading organic dairy company in India, is in advanced discussions to raise Rs 350 crore (approximately $40 million) in funding. This investment round is spearheaded by ABC Impact, which is supported by the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund, Temasek. The funding aims to triple the company's valuation from Rs 590 crore three years ago to Rs 1,500 crore (around $180 million) currently.
The anticipated capital will comprise both primary and secondary funds, with Rs 200 crore allocated to expand operations and product lines. The remaining Rs 150 crore will facilitate the sale of existing shares, allowing investors like Venture Dairy to exit. Akshayakalpa plans to use the primary funds to enter the markets of Mumbai and Pune and to diversify its product offerings, particularly in high-demand categories such as high-protein products and ragi-based snacks.
Existing investors, including A91 Partners, Rainmatter Foundation, and British International Investment, are expected to maintain their stakes in the company. This collective backing highlights the growing confidence in Akshayakalpa's position in the organic dairy sector, which caters to the increasing consumer demand for healthier food options in India's fast-growing dairy market.
