Situated across a sprawling one-hectare site, this modern industrial unit boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of animal feed catering to various species and stages of life, including laying hens, broilers, pigs, cattle, small ruminants, horses, rabbits, and fish. Initially focusing on pelleted and crumbled feed for livestock and poultry, Provenderie du Centre, under the leadership of Managing Director Bart Buytaert, plans to diversify its production to include fish feed and soybean processing.

The strategic location of the plant in Olembe is crucial, strategically positioned to serve the Central, Southern, and Eastern regions, as well as neighboring countries such as Chad, the Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea. Moreover, the factory will fulfill the feed requirements of the NJS group's parent farm in Obala, situated approximately thirty kilometers away, with an estimated monthly consumption of 600 to 700 tons of feed.

This significant investment underscores the burgeoning market demand, particularly with the animal feed plant in Bafoussam operating at full capacity. Bart Buytaert emphasizes the strategic importance of Olembe, citing its ability to manage production effectively in the central region and proximity to essential raw materials sourced from the North and South.

Marcel Tchagongom, Chairman of the NJS group's board of directors, lauds the inauguration of the Olembe plant as a milestone achievement, reinforcing the group's commitment to autonomy in serving the Central, Southern, and Eastern regions. With over four decades of dedication to sustainable agricultural practices and substantial investments, the NJS group continues to set industry benchmarks.

Minister Dr. Taïga lauds this industrial endeavor as a pivotal step towards realizing the government's import-substitution policy outlined in the 2020-2030 National Development Strategy (SND30). He emphasizes the role of such plants in modernizing production methods, reducing imports, and fostering a robust agricultural sector, echoing the vision of the President's agricultural revolution. The minister calls upon private economic operators to follow suit and invest in the livestock sector, aligning with national development objectives.
