While awaiting the unfolding of the process for individually assigning customs codes for Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano, we are enjoying the excellent results of the export of these two PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) cheeses.

Between January and August, there has been a year-on-year increase of +3.8%, with outstanding performance in Germany (+7.1%), Spain (+10%), the Netherlands (+13.6%), and the United Kingdom (+6.3%). The overall value has grown by 8.9%, thanks to a unit price increase of 4.9% compared to the same period in 2022.

The first eight months of the year have been positive for the entire category of hard cheeses (including Grana Padano, Parmigiano Reggiano, grated and powdered cheeses, and non-PDO varieties), which have recorded a foreign growth of 5.4% from January to August 2022.

Kazakhstani ice cream producers ended the warm season with a historical high. From May to September 2023, according to the Bureau of National Statistics (BNS), the country produced more than 46 thousand tons of ice cream and edible ice. This is 32.6% more than in the same period last year. Today, the share of domestic ice cream on the market is more than 80%.
