In an effort to make dairy products more affordable for the population, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced major price reductions on Verka milk and other dairy products. Effective from September 22, 2025, prices of products under the state-backed farmersβ cooperative Milkfed's Verka brand will be slashed. Verka Ghee sees a reduction of βΉ30β35 per litre/kilogram, Table Butter by βΉ30 per kg, Unsalted Butter by βΉ35 per kg, and Processed Cheese by βΉ20 per kg. UHT Milk including Standard, Toned & Double Toned varieties will be cheaper by βΉ2 per litre, Ice Cream by βΉ10 per litre, and Paneer by βΉ15 per kg. These cuts align with the Government of Indiaβs GST 2.0 reforms which reduced tariffs on essential dairy items.
