Saputo Dairy UK gives 12-month notice to 13 dairy producers, seeking new arrangements for over 20 million liters of milk.

Thirteen dairy producers supplying Saputo Dairy UK for its Davidstow cheese milk pool in the southwest UK have received a notice to find new buyers for their milk within the next 12 months, according to Farmers Weekly. This decision affects over 20 million liters of milk, representing approximately 3.5% of Davidstow's total volume.
Saputo Dairy UK has indicated it will provide support to these farms during the transition period. The announcement comes as the UK dairy industry experiences consolidation, with the number of dairy farms in Great Britain decreasing from 13,000 a decade ago to 7,270. Despite these challenges, the total milk production in the UK has increased by 3% compared to the previous year.
