Müller Milk & Ingredients has announced a 1 pence per litre (ppl) increase in milk prices for dairy farmers participating in its Advantage scheme, effective from October 1, 2022. This adjustment will bring the milk price to 48p per litre for eligible producers.
Rod Hutchinson, CEO of Müller Milk & Ingredients, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting farmers during a period of high inflation. "We are doing everything we can to assist our suppliers," Hutchinson stated, noting that the company will continue to monitor factors influencing farmgate milk prices, including farm supplies, in the coming months.
This price adjustment follows similar moves within the dairy industry. Meadow Foods recently announced a 1ppl increase starting September 1, while First Milk will implement a 2.14ppl rise. Meanwhile, Arla has confirmed that its milk price for September will remain steady at 50.35p per litre.
These adjustments reflect the broader market dynamics as dairy processors respond to ongoing economic pressures and the need to support the agricultural sector.
