Devyani Food Industries Strengthens Leadership with New VP for Creambell Operations
Devyani Food Industries Limited has announced the appointment of Dharmavir Kumar as Vice President – Operations for Creambell, effective March 2026. This strategic appointment is intended to bolster the company’s presence in the competitive Indian frozen dessert and dairy market.
In his new role, Kumar will be responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing and plant operations of the Creambell brand across India. His primary objectives include scaling production capacity, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the company’s dairy and frozen dessert portfolio.
India's ice cream and frozen dessert sector is currently experiencing rapid growth, driven by increased consumption, expansion of cold-chain infrastructure, and product innovation. The appointment of Kumar is seen as a critical component of Creambell’s strategy to optimize manufacturing performance and support market expansion.
Dharmavir Kumar brings over 27 years of experience in food and dairy processing, with expertise in large-scale manufacturing operations and process optimization. Prior to joining Devyani Food Industries, he was the General Manager – Operations & Projects at Havmor Ice Cream, where he was instrumental in executing a manufacturing facility project worth over ₹400 crore.
Kumar's previous roles also include significant positions at Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. and Vadilal Industries Limited, where he managed high-volume production environments and led plant commissioning initiatives. He is well-versed in FSSAI compliance, greenfield project development, and capacity expansion strategies.
Industry observers note that such leadership appointments reflect a growing focus on process excellence and quality compliance as competition intensifies in the Indian market. With Kumar overseeing operations, Creambell aims to enhance its manufacturing capabilities and support its long-term growth ambitions.
