India's flagship dairy brand, Amul, is on the cusp of a significant revenue milestone. The brand's total revenue is anticipated to grow by over 10% this fiscal year, driven by a robust consumer demand for milk and its derivative products, reaching an approximated Rs 1 lakh crore.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), responsible for marketing Amul products, is set to expand. GCMMF's managing director, Jayen Mehta, indicated that Amul's total revenue is likely to touch Rs 1 lakh crore in the 2025-26 fiscal, rising from nearly Rs 90,000 crore in the previous year. Meanwhile, GCMMF aims for a 14% growth reaching Rs 75,000 crore this fiscal year.

Significantly, last year's fiscal ending saw the GCMMF's revenue increase by 11% to Rs 65,911 crore, primarily due to volumetric growth across all product categories. The previous year's turnover was recorded at Rs 59,250 crore. GCMMF, with its massive network, including 36 lakh farmers from 18,600 villages in Gujarat, processes 350 lakh litres of milk per day. Its member unions sell Amul products locally, independently of GCMMF.

GCMMF expanded into the US market last year with the launch of four milk variants targeting the Indian and Asian diaspora. It also ranks 8th globally among dairy companies in terms of milk processing, and exports products to around 50 countries.
