After a four-month pause, Argentine dairy company Lácteos Verónica has agreed on a payment plan with its workers, allowing production to restart in its Lehmann, Suardi, and Clason plants.
Verónica's Revival: Resuming Payments and Production After Conflict
The conflict, initiated in May due to financial difficulties and unfavorable market conditions, resulted in an indefinite labor stoppage by the employees. The resolution includes staggered payments beginning with installments of $700,000 and amounts to $1,000,000 scheduled for September 29th, with the remaining balance expected from October 6th.

This agreement aims to normalize relations with the 650 affected workers, although challenges such as limited raw materials and dependency on third-party processing remain. While production has resumed in some plants, Clason's facility operates below full capacity, receiving only 20,000 to 30,000 liters of milk daily—insufficient for normal operations. The broader industry context includes declining consumption and supply chain barriers, which continue to pose a threat to the company's competitive market position.
