Over 2 Million Heads of Cattle Registered in Kyrgyzstan's Identification System
The development of an animal identification and traceability system continues in Kyrgyzstan. As of January 1, 2026, the database lists 2.08 million heads of cattle, according to Deputy Director of the Veterinary Service, Ishenbek Almambetov.
In addition to cattle, the system has registered 530,700 horses and about 4,000 pigs. All animals are in active status, allowing for tracking of their movement and life cycle.
According to the official, the system operates automatically: once an animal is slaughtered, its information is removed from the database. This ensures the accuracy of records and enhances the transparency of livestock product circulation.
