Union Minister inaugurates milk chilling plant of Balinee MPO

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, inaugurated a milk chilling plant in Bundelkhand, marking a significant step in Prime Minister's women empowerment vision. Lalan Singh emphasized the project's role in enabling women in the area to uplift their families through the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, encouraging further entrepreneurial ventures.

Lalan Singh, accompanied by key officials like Alka Upadhyaya and Dr. Meenesh Shah, highlighted the economic benefits of establishing a processing plant, stating, “If your product cannot reach the market in a refined form, your income remains limited. Once a processing plant is in place, your milk will be processed, allowing you to market it as ‘Produced by Balinee’.” This move is expected to boost income through sales and value addition.

Alka Upadhyaya urged women members of Balinee MPO to diversify their enterprise, drawing inspiration from Banas Dairy in Gujarat, which successfully ventured beyond dairy into potato cultivation. Celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of these women, Upadhyaya stated, “You are already well-organized and capable, and I believe you can take on a new initiative alongside your dairy work and see it grow as well.”
