Ukrainian Companies Invest in New Hard Cheese Production Facility
Ukrainian dairy companies Agroprodservice and Molokiya have announced a joint venture to build a new hard cheese production plant. According to Taras Baran, a top manager at Agroprodservice, the facility will have a daily processing capacity of 100 tons of milk, resulting in approximately 10 tons of finished cheese products each day.
This venture marks a new business direction for Agroprodservice, which is expanding its processing segment in the agro-industrial sector. Molokiya, a leading Ukrainian dairy producer, will contribute its technological and market expertise to the project. The cheese produced will adhere to standards similar to those of Swiss hard cheeses, with aging periods ranging from three to twelve months.
Experts estimate the investment required to establish the plant will range from $20 to $30 million, influenced by factors such as the level of automation and the origin of the equipment. Provided that market demand remains constant, the payback period is projected to be between five and seven years.
