Walkmills Farm has replaced its ageing milking parlour with two robotic units, increasing milk yields. The change followed sisters Lucy and Katy Mason’s return to their family’s dairy farm in 2023.
The farm is in Church Stretton, Shropshire, and has a herd of 135 pedigree Holstein cows.
The cattle remain indoors throughout the year, with calving spread across all seasons.
Lucy and Katy grew up on the farm before returning to work there. They run the dairy alongside Roger and Karen Mason.
The sisters’ decision to come back prompted the move to robotic milking, replacing the older parlour.
The account, published on November 7th 2026, describes the investment as securing the dairy’s future for the next generation.
