Slight Decrease in Cow Milk Prices in the EU to 53.65 €/100 kg

Spain remains the only major dairy-producing nation to experience an annual decrease in milk prices.

In March 2025, the European Milk Market Observatory reported a slight decline in cow milk prices across the EU, settling at 53.65 euros per 100 kg. This is a reduction of 0.19 euros compared to February. However, compared to March 2024, when prices averaged 46.44 euros, there is an overall increase of 15.5%.
Notably, Spain is the unique case among the leading milk-producing countries with a price decline of 3.1% year-on-year, from 49.61 euros in 2024 to 48.06 euros in 2025. The Netherlands observed the highest monthly decrease of 1.25 euros, despite an annual rise of 18.1%. France and Poland also saw slight monthly decreases but significant annual increases.
Meanwhile, Italy, Germany, Denmark, and Ireland experienced notable annual price surges, with Ireland leading at a 36.0% rise.
