Sharad Pawar, president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Sharad Pawar faction, has issued a warning of potential protests if the Maharashtra government does not provide subsidies to milk producers.
Pawar made these remarks during a visit to drought-affected villages in the Indapur tehsil of Pune district on Wednesday.
"If the government fails to provide subsidies to dairy farmers, we will take to the streets," he stated. Pawar questioned whether the current Shiv Sena-BJP-NCP government understood the challenges faced by farmers, recalling that previous administrations had waived crop loans and ensured fair prices for agricultural produce.
