Russian Drone Strike on Kyiv Dairy Plant Highlights Civilian Infrastructure Damage

A Russian drone strike on the 'Yahotynske for Children' dairy plant in the Zghurivka community of Brovary district, Kyiv region, led to the deaths of four individuals and injuries to at least seven others. The plant, known for producing dairy products and baby food, was severely damaged in the Friday morning attack.

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, the strike occurred while employees were working, causing a large fire and partial collapse of the plant's buildings. Emergency services extinguished the fire by midday, but search-and-rescue efforts continued throughout the day to locate potential additional victims under the rubble.

Regional authorities condemned the attack as a deliberate strike on civilian infrastructure, emphasizing that the facility served no military purpose. The plant has been providing essential dairy products, yogurts, and baby food to families across Ukraine.

Rescuers managed to free two workers trapped in blocked sections of the facility. Medical staff are treating injured victims, some of whom have sustained serious injuries. Emergency services, police, and medical teams remain at the scene as recovery operations continue.

This incident is part of a broader series of Russian aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian targets. Ukrainian officials have accused Russia of targeting non-military sites, claims that Russia denies.

Earlier reports from The Gaze indicated that a similar Russian attack on June 6 targeted Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, including Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, resulting in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for a decisive international response to these ongoing assaults, highlighting the need for increased support to counteract such attacks.
