Russian cheese exports to grow by 22% in 2024
The top three buyers of Russian cheese are:
-
Kazakhstan — ranks first with a share of 52% of the total volume;
-
Belarus — 15%;
-
Uzbekistan — 12%.
Exports to China, although they account for a smaller share, have demonstrated impressive growth. According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, in 2024, supplies of Russian cheese to China reached 440 tons worth about $2 million. Compared to 2023, this is 4.5 times more in both physical and value terms.
Experts attribute the increase in export volumes to the growing popularity of Russian cheeses in foreign markets, the expansion of the geography of supplies, as well as the activation of Russian producers in the Chinese market, where there is an increase in demand for imported dairy products.
