Qatar's Mazzraty Aims to Enhance Self-Sufficiency in Dairy and Poultry Sectors

The Minister of Municipality, HE Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, recently toured Mazzraty's facilities to evaluate their role in advancing Qatar's food security objectives. The visit included a review of the company's broiler chicken production in Al-Riffa, where they produce approximately 45 tonnes of fresh chicken daily. This operation is part of a fully integrated system that includes a hatchery, modern poultry houses, and an automated processing plant.

Mazzraty has been rapidly expanding since its establishment in 2017, becoming a leader in the broiler chicken sector under the guidance of Chairman Hamad Al Mana. The company strives to align with Qatar's vision of greater self-sufficiency, providing high-quality products that meet international standards.

In addition to poultry, Mazzraty operates a comprehensive dairy project in Rawdat Rashid. This facility, with a daily capacity exceeding 120 tonnes, uses advanced technologies to produce a range of dairy products. The company has imported a high-yield dairy herd to boost production capacity, aiming to meet up to 40% of the country's dairy demand.

The dairy facility is equipped with modernised cattle barns featuring climate-control systems and a fully automated milking parlour. The company maintains a strategic reserve of raw ingredients and packaging materials to ensure supply chain resilience. Furthermore, the facility's commitment to sustainability is evident through its solar-powered infrastructure and water recycling systems.

Additionally, Mazzraty collaborates with the Ministry of Municipality on a strategic initiative to support traditional farms. This program focuses on collecting and marketing locally produced eggs, reducing food waste, and providing new income streams for small-scale farms. It includes technical supervision and biosecurity measures to enhance local poultry-rearing practices.

Abdulaziz Al Mana, Vice-Chairman of Mazzraty, emphasised the company's dedication to sustainability and self-sufficiency, highlighting their production of over 70,000 tonnes of fodder annually.
