Milk Production in Russia Increases by 2.5%, Reaching 26.7 Million Tons

Preliminary estimates indicate that from January to December 2025, milk production in Russia rose by 2.5% compared to the same period in 2024, totaling 26.7 million tons.

The primary contribution to this growth was fr om agricultural organizations, wh ere production increased by 4.9% (an additional 966 thousand tons), reaching 20.8 million tons. Thus, the industrial segment continues to strengthen its position within the dairy production structure.

The largest increases in volume were recorded in:

  • Republic of Tatarstan — +128 thousand tons;

  • Republic of Udmurtia — +88 thousand tons;

  • Penza Region — +61 thousand tons;

  • Sverdlovsk Region — +51 thousand tons.

However, a decline in production was noted in several regions. Reductions were recorded in:

  • Moscow Region (–6 thousand tons);

  • Novosibirsk Region (–4 thousand tons);

  • Murmansk Region (–5 thousand tons);

  • Rostov Region (–10 thousand tons);

  • Tambov Region (–3 thousand tons).

As of the end of the first ten months of 2025, total milk production across all categories of farms increased by 0.5% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 34.2 million tons.
