Milk production in Belarus increased by 2.7% from January to November 2025
The growth is ensured by increased productivity, as the number of cows remained unchanged at 1.4 million heads over the year. Thus, the dynamics confirm the further strengthening of the intensive model of dairy farming.
Dairy products remain a key export position of Belarus's agricultural sector. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, about 70% of all produced dairy products are supplied to foreign markets. In 2024, Belarusian products almost completely accounted for the import of the dairy category in Russia.
Domestic consumption also remains high. Belarus ranks second in the world for butter consumption — about 5 kg per person per year. The total consumption of dairy drinks (milk, kefir, ryazhenka, yogurt) reaches 118 kg per capita, which is one of the highest indicators in the world.
