Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate ₹1,200 Crore Worth of Dairy Projects at GCMMF's Golden Jubilee Celebration

As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate five dairy projects totaling ₹1,200 crore. The GCMMF is renowned for its ownership of the Amul brand.

Among the projects to be inaugurated, a notable one is the ₹650 crore cheese plant constructed by Sabar Dairy in Gujarat. The Prime Minister had previously laid the foundation for this plant. Additionally, the inauguration includes a long-life tetra pack milk processing plant of Amul in Anand. The capacity of the Amul Chocolate plant, inaugurated by Modi in 2018, will be doubled. There are also plans to expand the Mozzarella cheese manufacturing unit. Furthermore, the 50,000-litre per day ice-cream plant of Sarhad Dairy in Kutch will be unveiled during the event.

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF, expressed enthusiasm about the significant dairy projects to be inaugurated during the Golden Jubilee celebration. This event not only marks a milestone for GCMMF but also showcases the ongoing advancements and expansions within the dairy sector, contributing to the growth and success of the industry.
