Cattle Population in CIS Reaches 51.9 Million: 0.4% Increase Amid Declines in Russia and Belarus

The total cattle population in CIS countries as of July 1, 2025, amounted to 51.97 million, which is 0.4% higher than the figures for the same period last year, according to official statistical data.

Russia maintained its leadership in herd size with 16.94 million heads, although this figure decreased by 4.1% year over year.

Uzbekistan ranked second with 14.05 million heads (+2%).

Kazakhstan showed the most significant growth: 8.83 million heads (+8.3%).
