• Russia maintained its leadership in herd size with 16.94 million heads, although this figure decreased by 4.1% year over year.

• Uzbekistan ranked second with 14.05 million heads (+2%).

• Kazakhstan showed the most significant growth: 8.83 million heads (+8.3%).

Among other countries in the region:

• Kyrgyzstan — 2.03 million heads (+1.2%),

• Tajikistan — 2.85 million (+5.4%),

• Azerbaijan — 2.45 million (–2%).

Several countries recorded a decrease in cattle numbers:

• Belarus — 4.05 million heads (–2.6%),

• Armenia — 648 thousand (–1.7%),

• Moldova — 99 thousand (–3%).
