Pennsylvania Launches $3 Million Grant Program for Dairy Farmers

Pennsylvania has announced the Dairy Productivity Grant Program, allocating $3 million to support local dairy producers. This initiative aims to improve farm efficiency and integrate advanced technologies in dairy operations. The program addresses challenges such as rising operational costs and market volatility.

Eligible farmers can apply for grants up to $50,000, with a requirement of matching the funds dollar-for-dollar. This ensures that farmers are committed to the projects, which could include precision agriculture technologies, facility upgrades, and energy efficiency initiatives.

Melissa Anderson, Programs and Operations Manager at the Center for Dairy Excellence, stated, “Our hope is that these new Dairy Productivity Grants support projects that directly impact milk production and dairy farm families’ bottom line.”

The program is designed to increase milk production efficiency and strengthen the economic stability of the local agribusiness community. Applications are now open, encouraging farmers to apply promptly to secure funding.
