Parag, Varun Beverages, Novonesis and Amcor Announce New Moves
Recent announcements from four companies cover production capacity, product development, biotechnology and packaging leadership in the dairy and food industries. Parag Milk Foods, Varun Beverages, Novonesis and Amcor are involved in developments across different parts of the food value chain.
Parag Milk Foods plans to invest $12 million to increase its paneer production capacity. The investment is linked to demand for paneer in India and is intended to expand the company’s manufacturing capabilities. The additional output is expected to serve retail and foodservice channels.
Paneer is consumed by households and is also used by restaurants, hotels, caterers and food manufacturers. The planned project comes as dairy companies develop more value-added products, including paneer, cheese, yoghurt and other processed dairy items, alongside liquid milk.
Varun Beverages Limited plans to introduce Mooju, a dairy-blend juice product combining dairy and fruit-based beverages. The launch will add a new product category to the company’s wider beverage portfolio and is designed around consumer demand for convenient products combining dairy and fruit flavours.
Biotechnology company Novonesis is expanding a facility connected with its dairy operations. Its biological solutions are used in food production, including dairy processing, and facility investment can support production, research, innovation and the development of solutions for manufacturers. The company’s work includes areas such as fermentation, cultures and enzymes.
Amcor has appointed Tom Long as chairman. The packaging company supplies an industry in which dairy products require protection from contamination, temperature variation and environmental exposure. Packaging development also involves requirements related to product safety, shelf life and sustainability.
Together, the announcements span increased paneer capacity, a dairy-and-fruit beverage, biotechnology infrastructure and a change in packaging-sector leadership. They involve companies operating in production, beverages, ingredients and packaging, rather than in dairy farming and processing alone.
