Mother Dairy's Ambitious Growth Path Post 50th Anniversary
FY2024-25 marked a significant milestone for Mother Dairy as it celebrated its 50th anniversary by achieving a 16% growth and reaching a turnover of nearly Rs 17,500 crore. In an exclusive discussion with ET Digital, Manish Bandlish, the Managing Director, shared insights into the company's future goals and strategies. Mother Dairy aims to reach a revenue mark of Rs 20,000 crore by FY26, propelled by introducing an extensive range of protein-rich dairy products such as paneer and curd to meet the changing consumer needs. Bandlish emphasized the company's response to fluctuating raw milk prices through structured procurement and improved farmer partnerships. The entry of southern dairy brands into northern markets presents competition, but Mother Dairy remains confident in its market position due to its long-standing presence and trust in regions like NCR. Further initiatives discussed include the expected benefits from government support in the dairy sector, through the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and the Ministry of Cooperation, both aiming at the sector's strengthening.

A focus on technological, infrastructure, and cooperative enhancements remains a priority for achieving long-term growth. Additionally, Mother Dairy has ventured into the nutrition-conscious market with its "Promilk" offering, a high-protein milk variant aimed at boosting daily protein intake. As the global dairy export potential is vast, Bandlish envisions India as "dairy to the world" thanks to its high production capabilities. Plans for a Rs 1,500 crore capex-driven expansion, including a new mega processing facility in Nagpur, are underway. With recent market expansions into Rajasthan and plans for Safal brand growth with new facilities and products, Mother Dairy is poised for substantial expansion and diversification. By FY26, the revenue target is set to surpass Rs 20,000 crore, driven by a strategic focus on product innovation and market penetration.
