Maryam Nawaz Pursues China Partnership for Punjab Dairy Project

Maryam Nawaz visited the headquarters of Tyren Wisdom Dairy Works in Xinjiang on Thursday as part of efforts to develop Punjab’s livestock and dairy sectors. Company officials showed her the facility and described its milk-processing operations.

The chief minister received a briefing on the stages used to process milk and inspected the process digitally. Experts also explained how the company prepares milk, yoghurt and other dairy products.

Tyren Wisdom Dairy Works officials said the company operates modern dairy farms in several regions of China. They said livestock was raised under animal-health and hygiene standards, while dairy products were processed with modern methods.

Maryam Nawaz said Punjab wanted to establish a milk and dairy-processing project in partnership with China. She also said that provincial initiatives to improve and promote livestock were producing positive results.

The chief minister said projects intended to strengthen the financial position of rural women and livestock breeding were being implemented successfully. She added that livestock was being fattened and prepared for meat production.

Separately, a Punjab delegation led by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Special Assistant Ali Mustafa Dar visited the Communication and Experience Centre of China’s National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone. The delegation was briefed on the development of the big-data industry and the centre’s role in governance, public services and industrial development.

The delegation examined China’s experience in digital technology, big data, environmental monitoring and artificial intelligence. It expressed interest in developing further digital cooperation between Pakistan and China, saying that data technologies could support Pakistan’s development needs and help Punjab address smog through stronger environmental monitoring and control. The pilot zone also applies its systems to data storage, smart logistics, autonomous vehicles and data-led governance.
