The total estimated cost of the project is ₹328.42 crores, with a significant contribution of ₹179.16 crores from farmers and livestock owners. The initiative, slated for completion by 2026-27, will be rolled out across 19 districts, including Nagpur, Bhandara, Chandrapur, and Latur, among others. This follows a similar successful project implemented in 2016 across 11 districts in the region.

The project’s primary objectives include increasing the population of dairy animals through advanced techniques like artificial insemination and embryo transplantation, enhancing forage development, providing balanced diets and quality fodder, and ensuring comprehensive animal health services. Additionally, the project will focus on distributing 13,400 high milk-yielding cows and buffaloes to farmers over the next three years, thereby boosting dairy production and creating employment opportunities.

With its headquarters in Nagpur, the project aims to significantly contribute to the economic upliftment of the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions, aligning with Maharashtra's vision for a robust agricultural economy.
