KMF achieves milestone: Record 1.06 crore litres of milk collected in a single day

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has set a new benchmark in Karnataka's dairy sector by collecting an unprecedented 1.06 crore litres of milk in a single day. This remarkable achievement was recorded on May 22, surpassing the previous best of 1 crore litres collected on June 28 the previous year.

According to KMF officials, the milestone was enabled by a favourable monsoon season, which led to an abundance of green fodder and improved nutrition for dairy cattle across Karnataka. This not only strengthens Karnataka's position as a leading milk-producing state in India but also reflects the resilience of local farmers and the robustness of the region's dairy infrastructure.

"This milestone is not just a number—it reflects the resilience of our farmers and the strength of the state’s dairy infrastructure," stated a senior KMF official. Increased milk collection also signals improved rural livelihoods, as dairy farming remains a key source of income for many families.

Coinciding with this achievement, KMF has launched 18 new varieties of cakes and milk-based bakery products under its flagship Nandini brand on World Milk Day, as part of its consumer offerings expansion. These new products aim to enhance the appeal of dairy consumption across all demographics.

The dual development of record-breaking milk collection and product diversification bolsters Karnataka's dairy economy, reinforcing the Nandini brand's credibility and popularity in both urban and rural markets. KMF is optimistic about further growth, intending to support farmers with better fodder supply chains, veterinary care, and training initiatives to ensure continued high yields and economic stability for dairy producers in the state.
