Kerrygold launches premium cream cheese range in the USA

Kerrygold’s new US cream cheese portfolio contains four varieties: Original, Strawberry, Honey, and Onion & Chive. The launch expands the brand’s presence in the American cheese market.

The products are manufactured in Ireland using cream from Irish grass-fed dairy cows. Kerrygold says the range is produced under European Union food-processing standards and uses a clean-label formulation.

The cream cheese is made without stabilising gums, including guar gum and carob bean gum, which are used in some leading products such as Philadelphia. It also contains no artificial flavours, synthetic ingredients or food colourings. The resulting product is described as dense, tangy and naturally smooth.

The launch is aimed at a US cheese market valued at $50.96bn in 2025, according to data from Fortune Business Insights. The same data puts the market at $53.97bn in 2026 and projects it will reach $87.49bn by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate of 6.23%.

Market expansion is associated in the source with demand for convenient ready-to-eat meals, sandwich spreads and everyday snacks. Greater use of cheese by quick-service restaurants and institutional food-service operators is also reinforcing per-person consumption across the country.

Kerrygold’s entry comes as American grocery shoppers’ nutritional purchasing habits shift. Dietitians and health professionals are increasingly recommending minimally processed foods containing nutrients such as calcium and protein, while consumer awareness of the health implications of ultra-processed foods has increased. The source says sales of processed cheese preparations have softened as natural cheeses have gained more favourable consumer perceptions.
