The parties discussed the current state and prospects of agricultural cooperation, the expansion of mutual trade in agricultural products, the implementation of investment projects, and food security issues.

At the end of 2025, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and China increased by 36.8% and amounted to $1.97 billion. In January-March 2026, this figure increased by another 61.7%, reaching $697 million.

Kazakhstan's agricultural exports to China in 2025 grew by 35.3% and amounted to $1.43 billion. The main supplies include animal feed, vegetable oils, flax and sunflower seeds, as well as rapeseed oil.

China remains one of Kazakhstan's key strategic partners in the agricultural sector. Currently, the two countries have signed protocols for the export of 34 types of agricultural products, including 21 types of crop products and 13 types of livestock products. A total of 3,601 enterprises are listed in the registry of companies authorized to supply to China.

"Your country is an important partner for China in ensuring food security and developing sustainable agricultural supply chains. We are ready to further strengthen practical cooperation, expand trade, and support joint projects in grain trade, logistics, and processing," emphasized Liu Huansheng.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the prospects of concluding long-term contracts for the supply of grain and oilseeds, creating logistics hubs and "dry ports," as well as exchanging technologies for storing and processing agricultural products.

The parties also discussed the development of digital tools for grain trade. Kazakhstan expressed interest in studying China's experience in implementing a digital platform for grain trade.

The meeting resulted in an agreement to establish a joint Chinese-Kazakh grain trading platform. The project will be implemented within the framework of the China and Central Asia Action Plan under the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.

The platform will be based on the existing National Internet Grain Trading Platform of the Chinese side. It will allow businesses from both countries to conclude deals through competitive bidding and direct negotiations. The main assortment of the platform will focus on soybeans, other oilseeds, and oil and fat products.

Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture and NAFRA, as well as a cooperation agreement between JSC "Food Contract Corporation" and the Grain Trade Coordination Center at NAFRA.
